![]() This is really for complete completeness since from the comments and your other questions you seem to be more after typesetting maths than typesetting documents. TeXmaker or TeXworks (automatically bundled with MikTeX) are almost the defacto standards. One reason is there are a lot more resources for LaTeX, another reason is it's difficult to collaborate on LyX documents and yet another reason is because a lot of the 'work arounds' in LyX rely on LaTeX code. I, possibly like many others, would recommend learning LaTeX first and then moving to LyX if you so wish. Alternatively you can select exactly which packages to install, but if you're just starting to learn LaTeX it can be hard to know which packages are popular. Note that MikTeX may ask for administrator privileges to install additional packages. If you make sure "yes" is selected and you are connected to the internet, your problems hopefully should go away. This means MikTeX can't automatically install missing packages. If I had to guess at the reason behind your problems with no other information, I would guess that you chose to not install missing packages on the fly or you are not connected to the internet. Once it's finished installing open up LyX and go Tools > Reconfigure.ģ. using knitr on Windows for me, MikTeX is preferred.Īfter uninstalled MikTeX (as simple as going to Programs & Features on Windows), you can download TeXLive here. However, it comes at the cost of a very large installation (I think mine used to be in the order of 4-5Gb). TeXLive contains all the major packages you need. Uninstall MikTeX, Install TeXLive then Reconfigure LyX ![]() Each has their own caveats such as limited storage or images or document customisation unless you are willing to pay.Ģ. Along with ShareLaTeX or Overleaf which are very popular for LaTeX, there is also Authorea (LaTeX/Markdown/HTML) or even LyX Online. I'll just give a brief outline of my suggestions.Īs suggested by ShreevatsaR, this is the easiest options especially if you don't have a lot of space on your computer. When I contacted property management, all they said was that my ceiling was going to need to be torn apart in order to repair the newest leak, which will require my apartment to be fully vacant.Ĭould my property management group be liable of negligence in this case? Should I speak with an attorney? TIA for any help. From the comments I take it that you downloaded the LyX bundle with MiKTeX from here or similar. It should be noted that as of today, I received a 30-day notice (I am on a month-to-month lease) taped to my door. I woke up with an eye infection the day after sleeping on my mattress. Property management did NOT inform me of this. ![]() I have now found out from the resident that lives in the unit where the leak originated that maintenance told him that this new leak was dirty (septic) water from the base of the toilet. ![]() I informed the property management group and maintenance team as soon as I noticed it (left a voicemail at 1 in the morning), however this time the property management group did not assist in providing fans to dry my apartment or assistance to move my personal belongings. I was assured that these leaks were clean/tap water from a broken cold water line.Ī few weeks later (just a few days ago) another leak started directly above my bed. The property management group fixed the leaks (but did not provide me any accommodations while my apartment was drying out). The original leak was from an improperly installed bidet, and turned into 7 different leaks that ended up splitting areas of my ceiling. This is essentially an update to my prior post, as things have changed in my situation and I am in serious need of advice.Ī few weeks ago, my apartment developed a leak in the ceiling that originated from the unit above mine. ![]()
